The Magic Kingdom Learning Centre Program Statement
A child has a natural curiosity and desire to play and learn. Children learn through the exploration of the world around them. We value initiate in the child and therefore encourage child-directed exploration and play. Educators’ role is to support and assist in each child’s learning experience. The child learns best when he or she experiences things familiar to him or her with a little bit of newness added each time. We believe in focusing on abilities, growth and strengths rather than problems and failures. It is our desire that each child will have every opportunity to develop to his or her potential.
The foundations of learning that are integral parts of our program include but not limited to:
Belonging – Every child has a sense of belonging when he or she is connected to others and contributes to their world.
Well-being is to address a child’s importance of physical and mental health, self-care and sense of self.
Engagement – Is a state of being involved and focused.
Expression – To communicate, to talk and to be heard. We foster communications and expressions in all forms.
