Teacher/ Student Ratio: 3 Teachers with 15 Students
The Toddler Program will focus on areas of the children’s interests. We provide each child with a routine that suits his/her needs. Stories, songs, active music and games will be incorporated in the program daily. The beginning of child-directed learning will be encouraged through various activities and stimulating play centres. This includes a dramatic centre, table and floor toys, sensory centre, creative centre and science centre. The child will be encouraged to choose where he/she would like to play and the educators to support curiosity and exploration of the environment. The teacher will extend child-directed learning through using his/her own language. The children will be introduced to basic shapes and primary/secondary colours. They will have the opportunity to explore number and letter concepts through daily engaging activities. Fine Moto skills (use of scissors, markers, and pencils) will be introduced also. Fun creative activities encouraging imagination and creativity are planned as part of the program.
